The ReVe Festival: Day 1 (occasionally referred as Day 1) is the third special extended play and the tenth overall by South Korean girl group Red Velvet. Released on June 19, 2019 through SM Entertainment and Dreamus as the native distributor, the extended play served as the first installation of the group's The ReVe Festival trilogy, which was eventually followed by two additional releases, namely Day 2 and Finale. A dominant electro-pop and dance-pop record, the extended play features six Korean songs that sees the group "trying in new genres" in order to offer "something new" to their listeners, further embarking on their "colorful music activities" in 2019.[4] SM founder Lee Soo-man remained as the executive producer for the release, while various songwriters and production teams, namely Caesar & Loui, Ollipop, Moonshine, Trinity Music, Ylva Dimberg, Cazzi Opeia, Ryan S. Jhun, and others, contributed both lyrics and production to the extended play.

Upon its release, Day 1 received mixed to positive reviews from critics, who are polarized over its experimental and genre-hopping nature.[5] The extended play, however, was a commercial success for the group, becoming their ninth chart-topper on the Gaon Album Chart for one week, while becoming their best-selling release to date. It also attained international success for the group, helping them become the first Korean girl group to top the US iTunes album chart.[6] It was the group's eleventh top-ten entry on the Billboard World Albums chart, their third appearance on the component UK Digital Albums chart, and their fourth top-twenty entry on the Oricon Albums Chart. The album's lead single "Zimzalabim" was a moderate success, however, peaking at number eleven and ten on the Gaon Digital Chart and Billboard World Digital Songs chart, respectively.[2] To further promote the release, Red Velvet embarked on their third concert tour, titled La Rouge, to perform several songs from the extended play in between November 2019 and February 2020.
