Survivor 41 is the upcoming forty-first season of the American competition television series Survivor.

The season was supposed to premiere in September 2020, but production was put on hold for an entire year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This season is set to premiere on September 22, 2021 on CBS in the United States and Global in Canada.[2][1] Production was to start filming in Fiji and this would be the ninth consecutive season in the country and tenth overall record, but was delayed from March 2020 to May 19, 2020 due to worldwide travel restrictions and Fiji closed its borders to non-citizens, then eventually pushed back to a year in spring 2021 because a 2020 production date was "to be shelved."[3] This season was renewed on May 6, 2020, and as well for a forty-second season, the production of which was also pushed back to 2021.[4][5]

Though originally scheduled to start on March 24, 2020, most of the production and filming was pushed back until 2021. Usually, the show releases two seasons a year—one debuting around February and one debuting around September, but, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Survivor crew was not able to produce a second season in 2020. Production had considered filming domestically in Georgia or Hawaii, but the unpredictability of the pandemic pushed filming back to 2021.[6] On February 11, 2021, Faiyaz Koya, the Fijian Minister of Commerce, Trade, Tourism and Transport, approved filming for this season with the crew required to arrive in groups and quarantine before filming.[7] On March 22, 2021, Jeff Probst announced on-location that production of this season was set to start.[8] The forty-first season is set to debut in September 2021.[9]

Season 41 (and 42) will be a shortened season, spanning only 26 out of the usual 39 days, due to the COVID-19 pandemic requiring all cast and production members to quarantine for 14 days and taking up some of the short production time.[10][11]

This will be the first Survivor season to impose a significant change in the safety protocols following an unseen incident that happened in Island of the Idols.[12]

The cast is composed of 18 new players divided into three tribes: Luvu, Ua, and Yase. The tribe names come from the Fijian words for "flood", "wave", and "lightning" respectively.[13] The cast includes retired National Football League player Danny McCray.[14]
