Sweden is scheduled to compete at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, China, from 4 to 20 February 2022.

Competitors[]

The following is the list of number of competitors participating at the Games per sport/discipline.

Note: Oskar Eriksson is qualified in both the men's and mixed team events in curling.

Alpine skiing[]

Qualifications in alpine skiing are not yet completed, but SOC has selected five athletes and a team in alpine skiing: individuals , Kristoffer Jakobsen, Sara Hector, Mattias Rönngren and Anna Swenn-Larsson as well as the team in the mixed team event. Those individuals and teams will be selected to the Olympics once Sweden has obtained enough qualification quotas.[1][2]

Biathlon[]

Qualifications in biathlon are not yet completed, but SOC has selected eight athletes and three teams in biathlon; Peppe Femling, Anna Magnusson, Jesper Nelin, Linn Persson, Martin Ponsiluoma, Sebastian Samuelsson, Elvira Öberg and Hanna Öberg as well as men's, women's and mixed relay teams. Those individuals and teams will be selected to the Olympics once Sweden has obtained enough qualification quotas.[3][2]

Cross-country skiing[]

Qualifications in cross-country skiing are not yet completed, but SOC has selected six athletes and four teams in cross-country skiing; Ebba Andersson, Jens Burman, Maja Dahlqvist, , Johan Häggström, , Frida Karlsson, , Anton Persson, William Poromaa, Emma Ribom, Jonna Sundling, and Oskar Svensson, as well as men's and women's teams in relay and sprint relay, ensuring those individuals and teams will be selected to the Olympics once Sweden has obtained enough qualification quotas.[4][2]

Note: Linn Svahn was originally selected as well but has since been deselected due to injury.

Men's tournament[]

Sweden has qualified their men's team (five athletes), by finishing in the top six teams in the 2021 World Men's Curling Championship.[5] On 4 June 2021, the Swedish Olympic Committee announced that Team Niklas Edin would be their men's team representatives.[6]

Women's tournament[]

Sweden has qualified their women's team (five athletes), by finishing in the top six teams in the 2021 World Women's Curling Championship.[7] On 4 June 2021, the Swedish Olympic Committee announced that Team Anna Hasselborg would be their women's team representatives.[6]

Mixed doubles tournament[]

Sweden has qualified their mixed doubles team (two athletes), by finishing in the top seven teams in the 2021 World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship.[8] On 4 June 2021, the Swedish Olympic Committee announced that Almida de Val and Oskar Eriksson would be their mixed doubles representatives.[6]

Figure skating[]

Sweden has qualified one male and one female figure skater, based on its placement at the 2021 World Figure Skating Championships in Stockholm, Sweden.

Freestyle skiing[]

Qualifications in freestyle skiing are not yet completed, but SOC has selected eight athletes so far.[1][6] They will be selected to the Olympics once Sweden has obtained enough qualification quotas.

Freeski

SOC has selected three athletes in freeski; Henrik Harlaut, Oliwer Magnusson and Jesper Tjäder. They will participate in both the slopestyle and big air events.[6]

Moguls

SOC has selected three athletes in moguls: Ludvig Fjällström, , Walter Wallberg.[6][2]

Ski cross

SOC has selected five athletes in ski-cross; Viktor Andersson, , , Erik Mobärg and Sandra Näslund.[1][2]

Men's tournament[]

Sweden men's national ice hockey team qualified a team of 25 players by finishing 4th in the 2019 IIHF World Ranking.[9][10][11] SOC selected the team in June 2021.[6]

Women's tournament[]

Sweden women's national ice hockey team qualified by winning a final qualification tournament.[12] SOC selected the team for the games shortly thereafter.[13]

Ski jumping[]

Qualifications in ski jumping are not yet completed, but SOC has selected one athlete; . She will be selected to the Olympics once Sweden has obtained a qualification quota.[2]

Snowboarding[]

Qualifications in snowboarding are not yet completed, but SOC has selected two athletes so far; Niklas Mattsson and Sven Thorgren. They will be selected to the Olympics once Sweden has obtained enough qualification quotas and will participate in both big air and slopestyle.[6]

Speed skating[]

Nils van der Poel has qualified in men's 5,000 and 10,000 metres by finishing top 8 in the qualification points ranking.[14] He was selected by SOC in November 2021.[15]
