Targavar Rural District (Persian: دهستان ترگور, Syriac: ܬܪܓܘܪ, romanizedTargawar) is a rural district (dehestan) in Silvaneh District, Urmia County, West Azerbaijan Province, Iran.[1] At the 2006 census, its population was 7,893, in 1,344 families.[2] The rural district has 26 villages. The district was home to a significant Assyrian population before the Assyrian genocide, but is mostly populated by Herki Kurds today.[3][4][5]
