The Tatar Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic (Russian: Татарская Автономная Советская Социалистическая Республика; Tatar: Татарстан Автономияле Совет Социалистик Республикасы), abbreviated as Tatar ASSR (Russian: Татарская АССР; Tatar: Татарстан АССР) or TASSR (Russian: ТАССР; Tatar: ТАССР) (1920–1990), was part of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic. The resolution for its creation was signed on May 27, 1920 and the republic was proclaimed on June 25, 1920.[1][2] Kazan served as its capital.
