Teesdale is a small town in the Golden Plains Shire, near the regional city of Geelong and 100 kilometres (62 mi) west of the state capital, Melbourne.

The town has become a place for young homebuyers who are prepared to commute from Geelong, Large rural parcels of land are the attraction. In 2006 the town had 1033 residents but that has grown to 1479 in 2011 and now 1721[1] residents in 2016 census .

A feature of the town is a small park to the north of the highway known to the locals as 'Turtle Bend', featuring a small building with a steel roof in the shape of a turtle.

Teesdale Post Office opened on 8 March 1864.[2]

Teesdale Pharmacy opened on 13 December 2013.
