Toyin Abraham Ajeyemi[1] (born Olutoyin Aimakhu) is a Nigerian actress and filmmaker.[2][3]

Early life[]

Olutoyin Aimakhu was born in Auchi, a town in Edo State in southern Nigeria. But spent her early life in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State in southwestern Nigeria. She attended St Anne's School Ibadan for her secondary school education.[4] She went to Osun State Polytechnic Iree from 2005 to 2007, where she had her Pre- National Diploma, and Ordinary National Diploma. She obtained a Higher National Diploma Certificate in Marketing from Ibadan Polytechnic.[5] Toyin Aimakhu Abraham has starred in many movies and recently starred in a movie called Black Val.[6]

Career[]

Toyin Abraham started acting in 2003, when Nigerian actress Bukky Wright came to Ibadan to film a film[7] Toyin Abraham has made, directed, and starred in several Nigerian films over the years, including Alani Baba Labake and Ebimi ni.[8] During the 2013 Best of Nollywood Awards, Toyin Abraham was nominated for Best Supporting Actress in a Yoruba Film titled Ebimi ni, alongside Joke Muyiwa, who was nominated for Best Lead Actress in a Yoruba Film titled Ayitale.[9] Based on her acting career, Toyin has also been called upon by politicians to campaign for them. At one of the programs for Nigeria President Goodluck Jonathan's re-election bid in 2015, the actress said she was prepared to die for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)[10] on whose platform Jonathan is contesting. But she later came out to apologize to her fans for the comments and advised Nigerians not to spill their blood for any politician.[11][12] Martini Animashaun the CEO of Tinimash Entertainment created and managed her reality show titled (KUWTA) 'Keeping Up With Toyin Aimakhu' in fact, she came back a better person. Toyin's exceptional professionalism during the whole saga.[13]

In November 2020, Toyin Abraham and her husband, Kolawole Adeyemi surprised many people on social media as they shared photos of a luxurious Mansion in a plush area of Lagos. It is believed to be the new home of the couple, although they didn't drop an official announcement. In 2020, Toyin Abraham was made the ambassador for , a Lagos based property outfit.[14]

Toyin Abraham has also directed and released numerous movies including the popular Nollywood movie, Fate of Alakada.[15]

Personal life[]

In 2013, Toyin married , a Nollywood actor.[16] But, the marriage lasted for two years. Then, in July 2019, she had a traditional engagement with , an actor too and together they welcomed their first child in August 2019.

She changed her name from Toyin Aimakhu to Toyin Abraham in 2016. According to her, the change was her family's decision. Her hobbies include singing, dancing, and cooking.[17]

Toyin Officially launched her Herbal medicine in 2019 which Was as a result Of the difficulty She had with her child birth. The herbal Medicine thus is to help women to improve sexual health, boost women fertility, improves fertility, corrects hormonal imbalance, stops symptoms of early menopause, supports and stabilizes pregnancy, and sets the body up to becoming a mother.
