They also made the final in 2018, and in 2016 when Griffin was assistant coach. Storm were the most successful team in the WCSL.[4]

Ahead of the 2019–20 Women's Big Bash League season, Griffin was appointed head coach of Sydney Thunder.[1][5] He was the WBBL's first non-Australian coach, and replaced Joanne Broadbent.[5] Griffin had previously worked for Thunder as an assistant coach.[5] Thunder later won the 2020–21 season.[1] In 2020, Griffin was appointed the head coach of the Sunrisers, one of the new women's regional cricket hubs.[1][3] Sunrisers lost all six of their matches in the 2020 Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy.[6] Griffin was appointed head coach of the London Spirit women's team for The Hundred;[1][4] the inaugural season of The Hundred was postponed from 2020 to 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.[3]
