Typhanie Degois (born 6 January 1993) is a French politician of La République En Marche! (LREM) who has been serving as a member of the French National Assembly since the 2017 elections, representing the first constituency of the department of Savoie.[1]

Early life and education[]

Degois was born in northern France and moved to Savoie at the age of 7.[2] She graduated from Pantheon-Assas University with a master's degree in international business law.[3]

Degois is a member of the Fondation Brigitte Bardot, an animal rights group.[4]

Political career[]

Degois joined the center-right Union of Democrats and Independents in 2013 but left after a year.

Degois joined En Marche! the day after it was founded and established a chapter of the movement in Aix-les-Bains.[5] In the 2017 legislative elections she was elected with 50.76% of the vote, narrowly defeating Dominique Dord of the Les Républicains who had held the seat for the previous twenty years.[6] At age 24, she was the youngest assembly member of La République En Marche!, and the second youngest overall after Ludovic Pajot of the Front National.[7]

In parliament, Degois serves as member of the Committee on Economic Affairs and the Committee on European Affairs.[8] In addition to her committee assignments, she is a member of the French parliamentary friendship groups with Monaco, the Central African Republic and Azerbaijan.

Political positions[]

In July 2019, Degois voted in favor of the French ratification of the European Union’s Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) with Canada.[9]
