The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) is a Kenyan political party. The party, initially called Party of Development and Reforms, officially changed its name to UDA in December 2020.[1] The party came into the Kenyan limelight[2][3] in January 2021 and is linked[4] to politicians allied to Dr. William Ruto, the sitting Deputy President of Kenya.[5] The party is fielding candidates[6][7] in various by-elections for elective positions slated for March 2021. The party's presidential candidate for the 2022 Kenyan general election is going to be William Ruto, after he announced that he would leave the
