Universe (stylized as UNIVERSE; Korean: 유니버스) is a Korean mobile app and web platform created by international video game developer NCSoft and operated by its entertainment subsidiary Klap.

The global K-pop entertainment platform revealed all 20 of its participating artists individually from November 12, 2020 to August 16, 2021.

Development[]

Ahead of its launch day, Universe surpassed four million pre-registered users on both the App Store and Google Play.[1] As of January 2021, K-pop fans from 188 countries around the world including South Korea, the United States, Japan, Taiwan, Indonesia, and Brazil completed pre-registration with 80% of these users residing overseas.[2] Two months after its launch, Universe achieved more than five million global downloads with a total 692 exclusive contents released.[3]

Artists[]

Iz*One[]

Girl group Iz*One was the first artist to join Universe on November 12, 2020.[4] As both the group's first release through Universe and the first project under Universe Music, Iz*One released the single "D-D-Dance" on January 26, 2021.[5]

Monsta X[]

Boy group Monsta X was announced as the second artist to join Universe on November 13, 2020.[6] As the group's first release through Universe, Monsta X is starring in the 10-episode Universe Original Area 51: The Code. It is updated weekly following the launch of the Universe app on January 28, 2021.[7]

The Boyz[]

Boy group The Boyz was announced as the third artist to join Universe on November 14, 2020.[8]

Kang Daniel[]

Solo artist Kang Daniel was revealed as the fourth artist to join Universe on November 15, 2020.[9] As his first release through Universe, Kang is starring in the 10-episode Universe Original Agent Blackjack K. It is updated weekly following the launch of the Universe app on January 28, 2021.[10]

(G)I-dle[]

Girl group (G)I-dle was the fifth artist to join Universe on November 16, 2020.[11]

Ateez[]

Boy group Ateez became the sixth artist to join Universe on November 17, 2020.[12]

AB6IX[]

Boy group AB6IX became the seventh artist to join Universe on November 18, 2020.[13]

Astro[]

Boy group Astro was the eighth artist to join Universe on November 19, 2020.[14]

WJSN[]

Girl group WJSN was the ninth artist to join Universe on November 20, 2020.[15]

CIX[]

Boy group CIX became the tenth artist to join Universe on November 21, 2020.[16]

Park Jihoon[]

Solo artist Park Ji-hoon was revealed as the eleventh artist to join Universe on November 22, 2020.[17]

Oh My Girl[]

Girl group Oh My Girl became the twelfth artist to join Universe on April 2, 2021.[18]

Cravity[]

Boy group Cravity became the thirteenth artist to join Universe on April 2, 2021.[18]

WEi[]

Boy group WEi became the fourteenth artist to join Universe on April 2, 2021.[18]

Brave Girls[]

Girl group Brave Girls became the fifteenth artist to join the platform on May 24, 2021.[19]

Drippin[]

Boy group Drippin became the sixteenth artist to join the platform on May 24, 2021.[19]

Young-jae (Got7)[]

Young-jae (Got7) became the seventeenth artist to join Universe on June 8, 2021.[20]

Epex[]

Boy group Epex became the eighteenth artist to join Universe on June 8, 2021.[20]

Wonho[]

Wonho became the nineteenth artist to join the platform on July 19, 2021.[21]

Weki Meki[]

Girl group Weki Meki became the twentieth artist to join the platform on July 19, 2021.[21]

Ha Sung-woon[]

Ha Sung-woon became the twenty-first artist to join Universe on August 16, 2021.[22]

Yerin[]

Yerin became the twenty-second artist to join Universe on August 30, 2021.[23]
