The University City–Big Bend St. Louis MetroLink subway station, opened on August 26, 2006, serves the western portion of the Washington University's main campus (although the majority of the student residential areas reside in Clayton), and the southern part of the Delmar Loop. Fontbonne University is located in Clayton also, though was before marked incorrectly as belonging to this neighborhood. Located at the intersection of Big Bend Boulevard and Forest Park Parkway, this station primarily serves passengers arriving on foot or via a MetroBus Connection.
