The College of Architecture, Design, and the Arts (CADA) at the University of Illinois at Chicago is a college of architects, designers, visual and performing artists, historians, and museum professionals. Educating and mentoring the next generation of cultural producers, the college offers a range of academic programs spanning across evolving creative disciplines, organized under four schools:

The School of Architecture program promotes architecture as a cultural practice of organizing information, of intelligently identifying and deploying patterns—conceptual, visual, structural, behavioral, and material—in the world. It prepares students to project all scales of these spatial and organizational patterns through the systematic development of an aesthetic attitude, a technical confidence, and a theoretical opportunism.^{[citation needed]}

The School of Design programs, grounded in studio culture and deeply involved with the human experience, are organized to reflect and advance developments in the field. Led by a faculty of professional designers who are committed to teaching,^{[citation needed]} students are introduced to contexts of culture and meaning as they develop the formal, conceptual, and technical skills necessary to confidently enter a professional setting.^{[citation needed]}

The School of Art & Art History programs comprise artists, scholars, museum workers, educators, and researchers, all within the nation’s most diverse public research university.^{[citation needed]} Affirming that humanity survives and advances through radical imagination and the arts, they educate students to rigorously engage in art’s vibrant^{[citation needed]} corollaries: dialogue, critique, experimentation, and social justice.^{[citation needed]}

The School of Theatre & Music programs provide innovative^{[citation needed]}, rigorous^{[citation needed]}, and comprehensive^{[citation needed]} academic and performance programs as part of an urban context. They develop practical knowledge^{[citation needed]}, cultural sensitivity^{[citation needed]}, intellectual resourcefulness^{[citation needed]}, and imaginative daring^{[citation needed]} in emerging artists and scholars, connecting students to Chicago's theatre culture and music networks.
