Valentina Margaglio (born 15 November 1993) is an Italian skeleton racer.

She won an historical medal for Italy, the first of ever in the skeleton at the world championships, at the IBSF World Championships 2020.[2]

Biography[]

She was born to an Italian father and mother from the Ivory Coast.[3] She has practiced athletics at a national level, trying both fast and strength disciplines, in particular in the throwings, in the shot put and in the javelin throw.

In 2011 she started competing in bobsleigh as a brakeman, participating in the 2012 Winter Youth Olympic Games in Innsbruck. Her debut in skeleton in 2016 for the Italian national team, making her debut in the European Cup in January 2016 and coming ninth in the overall standings at the end of the 2019/20 season.[4]
