Virginia's 9th House of Delegates district

Virginia's 9th House of Delegates district is one of 100 seats in the Virginia House of Delegates, the lower house of the state's bicameral legislature. District 9 consists of all of Patrick County, and parts of Franklin and Henry counties. It has been represented by Charles Poindexter since 2008.[1]

In 2017, Poindexter won the Republican nomination against a primary challenge from Justin Washer.[2] In the November 2017 general election, he faced Democrat Stephanie Cook, a substitute teacher for .[3][4] It was the first time the seat has been challenged since 2011.[5]
