Vladimir Chernukhin

Vladimir Chernukhin (born December 1968) is a Russian former deputy minister of finance.

Career in Russia[]

Chernukhin holds a Doctorate in economics from the Moscow Finance Academy and undergraduate degrees in diplomacy and economics.[1]

From 1986 to 1996, Chernukhin worked in the Ministry of Foreign Trade of the USSR and similarly with the Russian government.[1] In 2000, he was appointed as Russia's deputy finance minister. Two years later he was made chairman of Vnesheconombank, a Russian state development corporation.[2][3][4] He was removed from that position in 2004.[5]

Chernukhin joined several boards of directors of companies including JSC Sovcomflot and OJSC Aeroflot Russian Airlines. He was named one of the "Global Leaders for Tomorrow 2003" at the World Economic Forum in Davos and received the Order of Honor from the President of the Russian Federation in 2004.[1]

Emigration to the United Kingdom[]

Chernikhin moved to the United Kingdom in 2004,[6] and became a citizen in 2011. He is also a property investor.[7]

Chernukhin has also been involved in Polyus, a Russian gold mining company owned by Suleyman Kerimov.[8][9][10]

In October 2021, the Pandora Papers named the Chernukhins as having acquired UK property through offshore companies.[11]

Personal life[]

Vladmir married Lubov Chernukhin, a former banker, in 2007.[5]
