W67

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The W67 was an American thermonuclear warhead developed from June 1966 but then cancelled prior to any production or service use approximately 18 months later.[1]

Developed by Los Alamos, the warhead was to have a yield of approximately 150 kilotonnes of TNT (630 TJ). For use with the Poseidon missile it was to carry six warheads and it was also to be carried on Minuteman III.[1]

After its cancellation, the W68 warhead was developed for Poseidon and the W62 warhead for Minuteman III.[2]
