William N. Haskell

Lieutenant General William Nafew Haskell Jr. (b 13 August 1878 in Albany, New York; d 14. August 1952 in Greenwich, Connecticut) was a US military officer. Haskell was a graduate of the United States Military Academy.

He served in the Philippine–American War and World War I. After the war he served with the American Relief Administration as its director in Soviet Russia (1921-1923). In the 1920s he was head of the New York National Guard. Haskell was head of the Office of Civilian Defense in World War II, and again worked with civilian relief after the war.
