Would You Fall for That? (also known as Primetime: Would You Fall for That?, and commonly abbreviated as WYFFT) is an American situational hidden camera television program presented by Nick Watt alongside Scott Rogowsky and Sasheer Zamata. It was broadcast on ABC from July 26, 2013, to August 9, 2013, and consisted of 3 episodes. Filmed entirely in the state of New York,[1][2] the show presented a study on human behavior based on hidden camera social experiments performed on complete strangers.[3][4]

People agree to snap a photo of the series' bearded host, Scott, only to end up taking a picture of clean-shaven Nick. Scott, dressed as a bird watcher, stops random park-goers and tells them he's spotted a ridiculously rare bird in a tree, asking them to perform bizarre things in an effort to attract the attention of the bird. Nick Watt disguises himself as a famous astrologer from London and "reads" the horoscopes of six random people who believe they'll be on a pilot for a new TV show. Will they fall for it?

Will beachgoers feel stronger and more energetic after drinking what they are told is an energy drink that is actually nothing more than club soda? Would You Fall for That? attempts to get someone off the street to marry a stranger. Dressing Sasheer up like a pop icon and bringing her to Times Square, accompanied by fake fans and fake paparazzi, will the fake hype generate real hype? After being given a "Lost Dog" flyer, strangers will see the dog 50 feet away.

Can Nick convince unsuspecting passersby that he needs them to sit in for his expert who is running late? Will people notice when one person is switched for another? An "authority figure" asks strangers to stop eating. New Yorkers are given the opportunity to eat free ice-cream, but it has to be out of a "recycled" diaper. A fake park ranger asks pedestrians to walk on one side of the bridge based on their hair color, relationship status, and/or height. Will people follow the dynamics of an elevator if actors face the back of the elevator, start dancing, or sit on the floor?

Critical reception[]

Linda Stasi, writing for the New York Post, criticized the show for its overuse of psychological jokes and uncomfortable settings, stating that the show "isn’t as good as it should or could be."[1] A spin-off of ABC's What Would You Do?, several critics criticized Would You Fall for That? for being a "lighter and softer version that doesn't focus on 'serious' issues."[citation needed]
