Zhang Bangxin or by the western name Tom Zhang, is a Chinese self-made billionaire, co-founder and the chairman of U.S.-listed education services firm TAL Education Group.

Zhang received his bachelor's degree in life sciences from Sichuan University in 2001, was in the postgraduate program of the Life Science School of Peking University from 2002 to 2007, and received an EMBA from China Europe International Business School in 2009.
