The Ziauddin University (Urdu: جامعہ ضیاء الدین‎); abbreviated as ZU) is a private university located in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan.[1] The university is named after the educationist, Ziauddin Ahmad.[2]

It was founded in 1995 by the Ziauddin Group, who also managed its research and financial funding.[3] With a strong emphasis on medical, health and biomedical engineering, the university is offering undergraduate and post-graduate programs. Due to its health research, it consistently maintained its high-ranking position and currently placed as one of the top institution in "medical category" by the HEC.[4] In addition, its faculty and the university itself has taken initiatives to improve the health care system of Pakistan.[3]

History[]

1986 - School of Nursing was established.

2009 - College of Nursing was established.

1994 - Dr. Ziauddin Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences was established.

October 1995 - Ziauddin Medical University was established.

2005 - Ziauddin University was established.[5]
