Zulfiqar Naqvi, born in Gursai village in Mendhar Tehsil near LoC in District Poonch of Jammu and Kashmir, is an Urdu poet.[1][2]
Education[]
Zulfiqar Naqvi did his Matriculation from Higher Secondary School Harni Mendhar and did his 12th Class from Govt Boys Higher Secondary School Mendhar with flying colours. He completed his graduation from the Jammu University. He got admission in Masters in English in Aligarh Muslim University Aligarh and completed his masters from there in 1994. He also did BIAMS from Alternate Medicine Calcutta in 1997. He passed his B.Ed from Jammu University in 2000.
Career[]
Zulfiqar Naqvi started his career from Govt. Degree College Poonch Poonch as English Lecturer on ad hoc basis in 1994. He also joined as Announcer and Pahadi Compere at All India Radio Poonch in October 1994, where he worked for five years continuously.
In 1995 he was appointed as Teacher in Department of School Education, Government of Jammu and Kashmir.
In 2004 he was selected and appointed as Lecturer in English through Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission.
In 2011 he was promoted as Senior Lecturer in Department of School Education, Government of Jammu and Kashmir.
In 2022 he was promoted as Principal in Department of School Education, Government of Jammu and Kashmir.
He worked as Vice Principal in Govt Higher Secondary School Harni Mendhar and Govt. Higher Secondary School Boys Mendhar Poonch. He also served as Vice Principal in Govt Girls Model Higher Secondary School Kandoli Nagrota Jammu from 2015 to 2018. Keeping in view his Honesty and Managerial Capabilities Zulfiqar Naqvi was nominated as Election Commissioner by the Shia Federation Jammu, a Provincial Socio-religious NGO in 2019 which he conducted in an exemplary fair and square manner.

Poetry/ Literary Work[]
Zulfiqar Naqvi started composing poetry in 1984 and his first complete Ghazal came out in 1987. His first Ghazal was published in a National Journal in 1997. From 2003 to 2004 he worked as the Chief Editor of INSIGHT a weekly bilingual socio-literary paper. He framed a literary organisation known as BAZM-E-ADAB in 2010 and worked as its General Secretary.
- His first Book of Poetry Zaad-e-Safar was published by Abbas Book Agency Lucknow in 2011, which was released by the then Member of Legislative Council Jammu and Kashmir government jnb Jahangir Hussain Mir at Govt Degree College Poonch.
- In 2013 his 2nd Book of Poetry Ujaalu'n Ka Safar was published by Urdu Foundation Mumbai, which was released by Prof Zahoor Uddin the then HOD department of Urdu Jammu University in a grand function organized by the academy of art, culture and languages Jammu and Kashmir sub office Rajouri in Himalayan College of education Rajouri.
- Ujaalu'n Ka Safar was punched by National Council For the Promotion of Urdu Language NCPUL New Delhi in 2014.
- He also worked as the Chief Editor of QINDEEL quarterly in 2015. He is one of the founder members of Global Peace Organization Jammu a registered social NGO working for the communal peace and harmony in Jammu and Kashmir. He also wrote the THEME SONG of the said organisation.
- In 2017 he framed Muntaha-e-fikr an International Literary, non political organisation for the promotion of Urdu language and Poetry through which more than one hundred online international poetic congregations have been organized. Muntaha-e-fikr also publishes a literary journal Muntaha-e-fikr quarterly.
- In 2019 he wrote the Anthem of Govt. Degree College Surankote which is available on My YouTube Channel and in the Prospectus of the said college. He was felicitated for this contribution by the college in a grand function.
- His Poetry has been published in hundreds of renowned literary Urdu journals across the world besides being uploaded on scores of social networking sites including Rekhta.org, urdupoint.com, Urdunotes.com, urducarvan.com, aalmiakhbar.com and many more.
- He is one of the Noted Alumni of the Jammu University. His name also figures at serial number 84 in a list of World famous 96 alumni of the Aligarh Muslim University. He is famous English language teacher and phonetician. He is also known as a master Urdu Poet and has hundreds of his students who learn the basics of Urdu Poetry from him on different platforms of Social Media. He was called as a guest on DD Kashir Srinagar to its most famous live show Good Morning J&K on 12th July 2019.
- In 2021 his 3rd Book of poetry Dasht-e-Wahshat ISBN 978-93-91238-92-6 released by Jnb Farooq Khan Advisor to Honourable Lt Governor Jammu and Kashmir.
