The 1956 Long Beach State 49ers football team represented Long Beach State College[note 1] during the 1956 NCAA College Division football season. The 49ers were in their second year of existence, and did not compete in any college conference in 1956.

The team was led by head coach Mike DeLotto, in his second year, and played home games at Veterans Stadium adjacent to the campus of Long Beach City College in Long Beach, California. They finished the season with a record of five wins and three losses (5–3).
