- Typhoon Koryn (1993) was formed on June 13 and hit China.[4]

- July 19 – According to Henan Province government official confirmed report, train number 163 express train bound for Chengdu station, collide with a slow-mpving freight train nearby Xinxiang station, Henan, in an incident caused by a passenger train driver human error, due forgot overlooked to cab signalling, total 40 persons were human fatalities and 48 persons were wounded.[citation needed]
