The 2022 Canada Summer Games,[1][2] officially known as the XXVIII Canada Games, or informally as Niagara 2022[1] is the summer season portion of the Canada Games and a multi-sport event for amateur athletes which will take place August 6–21, 2022 in the Niagara Region of Ontario, Canada. There are 21 sporting events in total. It will mark the 28th time the event has been held.
The games were originally scheduled to be held in Niagara Region, Ontario, from August 6 to 21, 2021.[3] However in September 2020 the announced that the 2021 Canada Summer Games had been postponed to 2022 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic in Canada.[4]
Box lacrosse will be returning to the Canada Summer Games during the 2022 event for the first time since the 1980s.[5]
