2022 European Le Mans Series

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The 2022 European Le Mans Series will be the nineteenth season of the Automobile Club de l'Ouest's (ACO) European Le Mans Series. The six-event season will begin at Circuit Paul Ricard on 17 April and will finish at Algarve International Circuit on 16 October.[1][2]

The series is open to Le Mans Prototypes, divided into the LMP2 and LMP3 classes, and grand tourer-style racing cars in the LMGTE class.

Notes[]

  1. ^ G-Drive Racing was scheduled to field two LMP2 entries, including one in the LMP2 Pro-Am Cup,[7][8] but the team and driver Roman Rusinov refused to accept the FIA's code of conduct regarding the participation of Russian competitors after the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, and withdrew on 6 March.[9][10] Algarve Pro Racing, who operated the G-Drive LMP2 program, took over both entries independently.[6]
  2. ^ G-Drive Racing was scheduled to field an LMP3 entry,[8] but the team and driver Evgeny Kireev refused to accept the FIA's code of conduct regarding the participation of Russian competitors after the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, and withdrew on 6 March.[32][33] Eurointernational, who operated the G-Drive LMP3 program, took over the entry independently, therefore expanding to a two-car effort alongside its existing #11 car.[6]
