The 2022 Japan Rugby League One is the inaugural season of Japan's new professional three-tier Rugby union competition. Division 1 will consist of the top twelve franchises and will play five teams twice and six teams once resulting in each team playing a total of 16 games home and away.[1] The top four sides at the end of the regular season will contest the 58th All-Japan Rugby Football Championship, whilst the bottom three sides will go into a promotion and relegation playoff against the top three sides from .[2]
