The 2022 Major League Baseball draft will take place in 2022 at a location to be announced.[1] The draft will assign amateur baseball players to MLB teams. The draft order will be set based on the reverse order of the 2021 MLB season standings. In addition, compensation picks will be distributed for players who did not sign from the 2021 MLB Draft.[2]

With the worst record in the 2021 MLB season, the Baltimore Orioles will receive the first overall pick.[3] The New York Mets will receive the 11th overall pick as compensation for failing to sign Kumar Rocker.[4] The Boston Red Sox will receive the 41st overall pick as compensation for failing to sign Jud Fabian.[5]
