The 2027 AFC Asian Cup will be the 19th edition of the AFC Asian Cup, the quadrennial international men's football championship of Asia organised by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). The tournament will involve 24 national teams, including that of the host nation, assuming the current format of the finals is maintained.

Host selection[]

AFC confirmed that the following member associations expressed their interests to host 2027 Asian Cup before the 30 June 2020 deadline,[1] and they gave their necessary letters of undertaking in November.[2] The host was originally expected to be announced at the AFC Congress in November 2021, however due to challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic in Asia, the host will now be chosen in 2022.[3]

Previously, Qatar hosted the Asian Cup twice in 1988 and 2011.
Saudi Arabia Saudi Arabia On 6 February 2020, Saudi Arabia submitted its bid to host the competition. If this is successful, it will be the first time the Asian Cup is hosted in Saudi Arabia.[13]

Northern Mariana Islands, whose football association became the 47th full AFC member during the confederation's 30th Congress on 9 December 2020,[14] are eligible to enter the qualification tournament only for the Asian Cup.
