Addison Township is one of fourteen townships in Shelby County, Indiana. As of the 2010 census, its population was 20,585 and it contained 9,237 housing units.[3]

Addison Township was organized in 1823.[4]

According to the 2010 census, the township has a total area of 28.22 square miles (73.1 km2), of which 27.73 square miles (71.8 km2) (or 98.26%) is land and 0.5 square miles (1.3 km2) (or 1.77%) is water.[3]
