Agnifera (transl.holy fire cicles) is an Indian television series broadcast by &TV from 20 March 2017 to 25 January 2019. The series has 482 episodes.[1] The show starred Yukti Kapoor, Ankit Gera, Simran Kaur, Mohak Khurana, and Ayaz Ahmed as characters Ragini, Anurag, Shrishti, Vishesh Sagar and Baiju.[2] Following a 20-year leap, it starred Kapoor and Kaur as Agni and Sakshi,[3] whereas Karan Goddwani and Samridh Bawa played male leads as Kishan and Sameer.[4] The series was filmed in Bihar.[5]

Plot[]

MBA graduate Anurag Singh returns to his native town Bihar after completing his studies in London. His father, Vidvaan fixes his wedding to law student Shrishti, the daughter of middle-class lawyer Purushottam Singh. But Anurag's mother Revati disapproves of Vidvaan's choice and wants him to marry the rich, spoiled Ragini, the daughter of thug Vikraal Singh. Anurag decides to marry Shrishti.

This angers Ragini, who has fallen for his. On the wedding day, Vikraal holds Anurag's family at gunpoint and forces him to marry Ragini. Thus, she marries Anurag. To prevent humiliation, Shrishti marries his mentally disabled younger brother, Vishu. Anurag berates Ragini for forcing him into marrying her. Revati and her niece, Dulaari taunt Shrishti for being middle-class and try to sabotage her studies.

Later, Ragini leaves Anurag and returns to Vikraal. Despite of forming a friendship with Vishu, Shrishti also decides to leave due to Revati's treatment and moves in with her friend Poonam. Upon realizing his mistake, Anurag brings Ragini back under the pretense of taking her for granted. In reality, he uses her to get a business contract which he lost because of her.

Shekhar Sharma, Shrishti's friend takes advantage of the situation and tries ruining her marriage. He creates problems for Shrishti and her family misunderstands they're having an affair. Shrishti and Ragini expose Shekhar and Nimki, the village head who was seeking revenge on the two for sending her to jail. Shekhar kidnaps Vishu but Shrishti and Ragini save him. The police comes to arrest Shekhar.

Shekhar gets hold of a police gun and aims to shoot Ragini. Anurag takes the bullet and loses his memory. Revati blames and begins hating Ragini for Anurag's condition and. While recovering, Anurag falls in love with Ragini and eventually regains his memory back. They remarry. Rajjo is introduced, being vengeful on Anurag's family.

In past, young Vishu and Rajjo were married by Revati and Vidvaan. Later, Vishu fell from a tree and suffered a head injury which disfigured his mental state. Rajjo got blamed because of rumors that say she is bad luck. Unable to bear the humiliation, Rajjo's father committed suicide and mother lost her sanity. In the present, Rajjo is arrested and Revati finally accepts Shrishti and Ragini.

On various occasions, a hitman tries to kill Shrishti, which brings her and Vishu closer. On a date night, another attempt is made on her life but Vishu saves her from the killer. The two fight. Vishu kills the man and dies after falling off a cliff. The police fail to find his body. Ragini leaves Anurag. Vikraal arranges her new marriage to Abhimanyu. Anurag decides to win her over.

Baiju Kanpuria, a goon troubles Shrishti for humiliating him in public. He later is hired by the family to become Shrishti's bodyguard. Anurag and Ragini reunite. Shrishti is accused of having an affair with Baiju and they're forced to marry. After the wedding, he starts abusing Shrishti telling her this is just revenge for slapping as well as humiliating him.

Ragini is pregnant. Revati sends Shrishti and Baiju to Mumbai for a honeymoon. There they meet Shanky, Vishu's look-alike and find out he is Vishu having lost his memory. The three return home. Baiju reforms and falls in love with Shrishti. Revati wants to reunite Shrishti with Vishu. Shrishti figures out the truth and declares her love for Baiju. Vishu tries to separate them.

Vishu is revealed to be dead, but Shekhar has returned as Vishu after plastic surgery so he can have Shrishti all to himself. Baiju is framed by Shekhar in a drug case so he can separate him from Shrishti. Ragini tries to prove his innocence, but Shekhar secretly kills Baiju. Ragini is sent to jail for his murder which she not did, but the family doesn't believe her.

Ragini delivers a daughter, Agni, in prison and asks one of the prison wardens to tell Agni that she was innocent. She writes a letter to Shrishti explaining her innocence and Baiju's death. Angered, Shrishti confronts Shekhar and ends up killing him. She dies delivering her and Baiju's daughter, Sakshi who is taken to Anurag's family.

20–22 years later[]

Grown-up, Sakshi is faking to be a doctor. Agni lives with her foster mom who finally reveals her that Ragini is her mother. Agni falls in love with Kishan, for whom Sakshi also falls. However, Kishan wants to marry Agni and their wedding is fixed. But when the marriage ends, the bride turns out to be Sakshi. Agni fakes her wedding with Sameer, Kishan's cousin, for Sakshi's sake. Kishan is devastated.

Later it is revealed that Sameer hates his family because they accused his father of trying to kill young Kishan in his childhood. The family's accusation is in fact true. Sameer's father realizes his mistake, and everyone forgives him. Then, Sameer decides to leave for London where Agni proposes to him and he accepts it; they marry. And Kishan finally decides to move on.[6]
