Ankit Gera is an Indian actor recognized for his roles in several television soaps.[1] He was a contestant on Bigg Boss 9.[2]

Personal life[]

Gera was initially in a relationship with his Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke co-star Roopal Tyagi before they broke up.[3] In 2019, he began dating actress Sara Khan with whom he did a guest appearance in Santoshi Maa.[4]

Career[]

After completing his studies from Delhi, Gera began his acting career in Hindi television with the rom-com Mahi Way on Sony Entertainment Television.[5]

His first big character occurred in the superhit television show Mann Kee Awaaz Pratigya as Adarsh Saxena in 2009 until he quit the show in 2011 and was replaced by Aniruddh Singh.[6]

The most beneficial and appreciative breakthrough for Gera came in 2012 when he bagged his first lead role in Zee TV's popular soap opera Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke as Mayank Garg opposite Roopal Tyagi.[7][8] He received several nominations for his phenomenal job. The show ended in 2015.[9]

In 2015, he took part in Killer Karaoke Atka Toh Latkah.[10] That year he appeared as Bhasmasur in fantasy action series Maharakshak: Devi on Zee TV that flopped commercially.[11]

In October 2015, Gera entered as a celebrity contestant in the 9th season of popular Indian reality game show Bigg Boss.[12][13] He was evicted on Day 7.[14]

A year later, he was seen as Atish in an episodic of Yeh Hai Aashiqui with Pooja Sharma in 2016.[15] In the same year, he gave a guest appearance in &TV's mythological drama Santoshi Maa produced by Rashmi Sharma Telefilms with his girlfriend, Sara Khan.[16][17]

In March 2017, Gera began essaying the main character alongside Yukti Kapoor and Simraan Kaur in TV series Agniphera as MBA graduate Anurag Singh.[18][19] He left the show in 2018, after his character's death.
