Political activity[]

Helm was active as a member and officebearer of the Pirate Party Germany from 2010 to 2014.[1] In February 2014 she was involved in a controversial protest, in which she appeared topless with the text "Thanks Bomber Harris" painted on her body. She was masked in the pictures that were taken of this protest and at first denied being part of it. Only after a German newspaper identified her, she admitted her participation.[2][3]

In September 2014 she left[4] the Pirate Party Germany. In March 2016, she announced that she planned to run for the Die LINKE party in Berlin in September 2016.[needs update][5]
