The Ashkelon subdistrict is one of Israel's sub-districts in Southern District.^[2] The subdistrict consists of the merger of all of Mandatory Gaza Subdistrict that was occupied by Israel in 1948, as well as the southern half of what was occupied from Mandatory Hebron Subdistrict in the same year.

The principal cities in the subdistrict are Ashkelon, as the name implies, as well as the larger city of Ashdod. The subdistrict also includes the cities of Kiryat Malakhi, Kiryat Gat, and Sderot.
