Azalapur is a panchayat village[1] in the southern state of Karnataka, India.[2][3] Administratively, Azalapur is under Gurumitkal Taluka of Yadgir District in Karnataka.[3] The village of Azalapur is 3.5 km by road northwest of the village of Ujjelli in Telangana, and 20 km by road east of the census town of Saidapur in Yadgir Taluka. The nearest railhead is in saidapur&Yadgir.[4]

There are five villages in the gram panchayat: Azalapur, Badepalli, Badepalli tanda, turukaldoddi and Chaler.[3]

Demographics[]

At the 2001 census, the village of Azalapur had 2,123 inhabitants, with 1,021 males and 1,102 females.[5]

Education[]

It has Government higher primary school which is offered in Kannada and Urdu medium and a Government high school in Kannada medium. It has three anganaadis. A new government high school also located in this village.

Medical facilities[]

This village has a government primary health centre.veterinary hospital Land for the construction of this building is donated by Late Sri Narayan Rao cheler.

Scenic places[]

Two beautiful lakes are located.Old Hanuman temple also located in this village, History cites this way, Janamejaya Raja first made the pratisthapana of this idol, followed by Vyasa thirtha. Later the temple was reconstructed and renovated by Late Sri Ananth Rao Kulkarni, every year on the auspicious day of Hanuman Jayanthi, a procession will be carried out by Ananth Rao family carrying utsava murthis on a pallaki on the streets of Azalapur village. a Garudastambha was placed very recently by Raghavendra Rao S/o Late Sri Ananth Rao Kulkarni.

Dussera festival is point of attraction in this village, Kulkarni family will worship their ancestral salagramas with utmost devotion for 9 days of navaratri and on dussera a procession would be carried out to perform Shami vruksha pooja.
