Bayou George is named after a waterway that flows into part of Saint Andrews Bay. The main roads through the community are US 231 and former , now County Road 231 It is on the eastern part of highway 231 it is 20 minutes from panama city and is a suburb of it is 50 minutes from Chipley and 20 minutes from Fountain
