Chaprote

Chaprote is one of the earliest villages in the Nagar District in the Gilgit-Baltistan region. It is a scenic area, in which the literacy rate is more than 90%. The village is consist on 500 families and more then 10 tribes. Khanny, Masuty, Duguray and Bekhdury are well known families in the region.

Many miles of terraced fields and fruit orchards mark Chaprote, the earlier capital of Nagar Valley. It offers a panoramic view of the Rakaposhi and other peaks surrounding Nagar Valley. It is about 70 kilometres (43 mi) from the city of Gilgit and it takes a van about 1 hour to cover the distance.

Chaprote is the center of a form of shamanism called “Danyalism”.[1]

Ali Gohar is belong from chaprote valley nagar Hunza Pakistan.  He is only person in the valley who did PHD . He is well known as DR Ali Gohar . He face many struggles in his earlier education due to lack of schools . At that time there was only one low quality school in the Valley which was 22km away from Ali s house . He didn't give up but he continued to work hard . He went to school daily with a foot journey.  He was poor he don't have money to buy shoes but he continued his hard work and get positions.  Due to his hard work he topped in his primary education.  Teachers visited he home and gives him free education.  He continued his hard work again and topped in his secondary education also . Then he get job in forestry due to his higher education and knowledge.  The forestry management decided to help him for financially for PHD . He completed his PHD from London.
