Cheliosea cosmeta, the sombre tiger moth, is a moth of the family Erebidae. It was described by Oswald Bertram Lower in 1907. It is found in Australia in New South Wales,^[1] the Northern Territory, Victoria and South Australia).

The wingspan is about 30 mm. The forewings are greyish brown with indistinct pale submarginal bands. The hindwings are yellow with a greyish-brown spot near the centre and a broad greyish-brown margin.^[2]
