Choi Hyo-won (Hangul: 최효원, Hanja: 崔孝元; 23 February 1638 – 15 August 1672) was the father of Noble Consort Suk of the Haeju Choi clan and the maternal grandfather of King Yeongjo of Joseon.[1] After he died, his grandson King Yeongjo, promoted him to Uijeongbu and Yeonguijeong.[2]

Choi later married the daughter of Hong Gye-Nam, Lady Hong of the Namyang Hong clan and had three children. His second daughter and youngest child was Noble Consort Suk of the Haeju Choi clan become King Sukjong's royal consort. Choi later died on 15 August 1672 at aged 35. His tomb is located in San 101–1, Jingwanoe-dong, Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul, South Korea.[citation needed]
