Daniel Krutzen (born 19 September 1996) is a Dutch professional footballer who plays for Canadian club Forge FC as a defender.
Club career[]
Early career[]
Born in Brunssum, Netherlands, Krutzen was raised in nearby Lanaken, Belgium.[1] He was a product of the academy of Belgian First Division A side Genk before attending University at Albany on an athletic scholarship.[2]
In 2017, Krutzen played for USL PDL side FC Tucson, scoring five goals in seven appearances.[3] In 2018, he played for Reading United AC, scoring two goals in nine appearances.[3]
Forge FC[]
On 2 March 2019, Krutzen signed with Canadian Premier League side Forge FC.[2] On 4 May 2019, he made his professional debut as a starter against HFX Wanderers FC.[4] Krutzen played a major role for Forge in both the 2019 and 2020 seasons, winning the league both years. In 2020 he led the league in both interceptions and defensive touches, and is considered to be one of the best defenders in the league.[5]
