Darnell Ernest Washington (born August 17, 2001) is an American football tight end for the Georgia Bulldogs.[1]

High school career[]

Darnell attended Desert Pines High School in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was a two-sport athlete playing football and basketball.[2] Darnell received offers from other SEC schools such as Alabama, Florida, and Tennessee but he chose to go to Georgia. Washington was a highly rated player in the 2020 recruiting class. He received a 5-star rating from 247 Sports and Rivals.com while being listed as a 4-star recruit by ESPN.[3][4][5] Washington committed to the Bulldogs in early 2020.

College career[]

2020 Season[]

As a true freshman at Georgia, Darnell would record 166 yards on 7 receptions.[6]

2021 Season[]

In Washington's second season he put up 145 yards on 9 receptions and scored 1 touchdown. This touchdown was the first of Washington's career and it came in the SEC Championship Game against Alabama. Washington's longest gain of the season came on a 32 yard reception against Florida. He appeared in 7 games and missed time due to having to have surgery for a minor fracture in his foot.[7]
