The Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 1958 was held on 16 February 1958 at the in Copenhagen, the winning song was chosen by a jury of 10 people and only the winning song was announced.
The winning title "Jeg rev et blad ud af min dagbog" which means "I tore a page out of my diary", composed and written in Danish by Sven Ulrik and Harry Jensen, is sung from the perspective of a woman apologising for her actions to a friend or lover, suggesting that the other party needs to do likewise. She sings that she regrets the words she used, so she "tore a page out of my diary".[1]

On the night "Jeg rev et blad ud af min dagbog" was conducted by Kai Mortensen and performed sixth in the running order, following Sweden and preceding Belgium. At the close of voting "Jeg Rev Et Blad Ud Af Min Dagbog" had received 3 points, placing Denmark eighth of the 10 entries.[2][3] It was succeeded as Danish representative at the 1959 contest by Birthe Wilke with "Uh, jeg ville ønske jeg var dig".
