Disha Parmar (born 11 November 1994) is an Indian television actress and former model.[2][3] She made her debut in 2012 with Pyaar Ka Dard Hai Meetha Meetha Pyaara Pyaara and is best known for her performance as Pankhuri Gupta in her debut show.

She appeared as Jhanvi Agarwal in Woh Apna Sa.[4] Since August 2021, she is portraying the character of Priya Sood in Ekta Kapoor's Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 2, Disha is receiving immense praises for her portrayal of Priya Sood.[5]

Early life[]

Parmar completed her schooling from Sadhu Vaswani International School, Delhi. During her higher secondary education, she used to participate in dance competitions, plays and fashion shows.[6]

Parmar appeared in several print and commercial ads in Delhi.[7] She left her studies midway as she was named as the lead for the show Pyaar Ka Dard Hai Meetha Meetha Pyaara Pyaara as Pankhuri.[8]

Personal life[]

Disha married singer Rahul Vaidya on 16 July 2021.[9][10] He proposed to Disha on her birthday during Bigg Boss 14. [11][12]

Career[]

For a year, she worked in a Delhi-based company 'Elite Model Management India Pvt. Ltd' and organised the auditions for Rajshri Productions. She enrolled for the auditions and was selected for the lead role of Pankhuri in Pyaar Ka Dard Hai. She was 17 when she was selected for the role.[13] She has received praise for her pairing with co-star Nakuul Mehta [14][15] She continued with working in the commercials along with the serial.

In 2016, Parmar featured in the WebSeries I Don't Watch TV which releases in Arré.[16]

In 2017, she played the lead role of Jhanvi/Jia in Zee Tv's daily soap Woh Apna Sa[17] and became the Most Loved TV Actress in 2017.[18]

She also featured in music videos, Yaad Teri and Madhanya.[19]

She also participated in Box Cricket League in 2014.[20] She was also a guest on Bigg Boss 14 to meet Rahul Vaidya on Valentine's Day[21]

In 2020, Disha became the Top 5 Most Googled Women Of 2020.[22]

Since August 2021, Disha portrayed Priya in Ekta Kapoor's Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 2.[23][24]
