Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 2 (pronounced [bəˈɽeː ˈətʃtʃʰeː ləɡəˈteː ɦɛ̃ː], transl. It all feels so good ) is an Indian Hindi-language soap opera that premiered on 30 August 2021 on Sony Entertainment Television.^[1] Produced by Ekta Kapoor under Balaji Telefilms, the show is a spiritual sequel or reboot version of the 2011 series of the same name.^[2] It stars Nakuul Mehta and Disha Parmar.^[3][4]

Priya Sood, aged 32, hails from a middle-class family, consisting of her mother Meera, three sisters Saranghi 'Sara', Maitri and Sandhya 'Sandy', and cousin Akshay, at Akshay's parents Dhiren and Sarika's home. Her father Mahendra abandoned them and now lives with his second wife Rakhi and their son Raj. Although Priya dated Neeraj for four years, he left her to marry her sister Maitri. Thus, she believes there is no place for love in her life. Rich, established, and well-known, Ram Kapoor, aged 38 was deserted six years ago by his girlfriend Vedika, who is now married to Shashi Babbar. Now, Ram entirely focuses on work and family. His family consists of his stepmother Nandini, half-siblings Shubham and Shivina, Nandini's brother Sanjeev and sister-in-law Mitali 'Meetu'.

Priya and Ram's lives take a turn when they discover that Shivina and Akshay are having an affair, despite Shivina being engaged to Shashi's younger brother Siddharth 'Sid'. Akshay refuses to marry before Priya marries, thus Ram decides to find a suitable alliance for her. However, Priya misunderstands his intentions, which leads to a huge fight between them. When Nandini realises that there is a possibility that Shivina's pregnant after the latter reveals she received a positive on a pregnancy test kit, she brings up Priya-Ram's marriage proposal to Meera. It is later revealed that Shivina is not pregnant, although Akshay still insists on marrying after Priya does. Priya informs Ram that she cares about her brother's happiness and wishes to meet him. After meeting Ram, Priya eventually agrees to marry him.

However, as the families proceed with the marriages, the Kapoors learn of Priya's past affair with Neeraj, who reckoned earlier of Priya not moving on and overconfidently believes that she still loves him. This annoys Nandini, but Ram, Adi, and Brinda come to Priya's rescue and taunt Neeraj indirectly. Finally, Priya-Ram and Shivina-Akshay get engaged.

But, on the other hand, Mahendra Sood, who has joined hands with Shashi attempts to sabotage the weddings with the help of Rakhi. The revelation of Mahendra's relations with the Soods shocks Nandini, who then misunderstands the Soods, and on Shubham's insistence gets a Prenuptial Agreement prepared for Priya and Ram, which forbids Priya from receiving any share or alimony if they decide to part ways in the near future. It is revealed, Shashi had suggested Shubham get a prenup as the former did the same for his brother Sid and Shivina. The Prenup Agreement leaves Priya and Ram shocked. Ram initially hesitant, agrees to sign after finding out that the responsibility of the loan repayment of Priya's family bakery is handed over to him by Priya, but as it turns out, it was another attempt by Mahendra to sabotage the alliance with a plan of getting Priya married to someone else, solely to fulfill his responsibilities as a father, which annoys Rakhi. On the other hand, Priya's self-respect is hurt when Shubham and Sanjeev arrive at her home and ask her to sign the agreement and she firmly refuses to sign it. Soon, Meera and Priya find out Mahendra's intentions and oust him.

Later, Priya signs the contract in front of Ram after being convinced by Meera, but later Ram gets to know, that it wasn't Priya who had planned to hand over the loan repayment to Ram, thus deciding to help Priya, but the latter refuses. Ram leaves and nobody knows where he is. Nandini calls Shashi, who tells Nandini that Ram left for Delhi for a meeting. Nandini almost cancels the Sangeet, but the family convinces her not to cancel it. On Shashi's orders, Vedika meets Priya and tells her that Ram is still in love with a woman from his past when Priya tells Vedika that Ram told her this at their engagement. Ram later comes back from Delhi and everyone arrives at the sangeet, except Priya, which makes everyone suspicious. On the other hand, Priya gets the loan repayment formalities done and reaches the venue a little later.

At the sangeet, Neeraj once again tries to provoke Priya to confess her love for him, but to his dismay, Priya rebukes him. However, Meetu records the conversation incomplete, making it a half-baked truth to show. On the other hand, the celebrations begin, Shubham surprises Shivina by inviting the winner and her favourite contestants, Pawandeep Rajan and first runner-up Arunita Kanjilal from Indian Idol 12. Meanwhile, Ram, on Shivina's insistence, impresses Priya by dancing with Meera, and inviting the school students from Saraswati Vidyalaya, an NGO Priya is associated with.

After their wedding, Ram and Priya encounter some problems, and because of this Ram decides to not let Shivina and Akshay get married. So Priya decides to make Shivina leave the house secretly so she and Akshay can get married. However, Ram and his family find them and bring Shivina home. Ram then forgives Shivina and lets her go to Akshay. Shubham and Nandini are not happy with this, and they, along with Sid, decide to frame Akshay for a sex scandal with his film co-star Anjali after Ram gives Priya 5% of Shubham and Sid's new company.

However, Akshay discovers the truth and Vedika takes the blame for the scandal on herself, defending Shubham and Sid after noticing the two are up to something. Ram and Priya go home but when Priya goes inside, Vedika calls Ram and is crying. Ram goes to see her but Nandini comes and brings Vedika home. Ram almost tells Priya the truth about him and Vedika's past but Vedika comes and tells Priya she will be staying. Ram asks her if Vedika staying is okay with her, to when Priya says no. Priya starts laughing and reveals it was a joke.

Neeraj tells Vedika to find a way to convince Priya that she isn't happy with Shashi. So Vedika comes into Ram's Office where she finds Ram with Shashi. When she leaves the Office, Priya decides not to tell Ram about Vedika staying. When Ram finds out, he and Priya have an argument. When Shashi arrives at Ram's house to bring Vedika home, Vedika hits herself with a candlestick and blames Shashi of domestic violence, which Priya believes. Shashi then leaves the house. Vedika sends some photos of Akshay and Anjali to his house, so Akshay decides to burn them and Vedika tells Akshay to convince Ram to stop looking for Anjali, which he does.

Brinda warns Vedika not to come between Ram and Priya. When Priya finds out that Ram hasn't talked to anyone, she gets worried and goes to the Hotel where Ram is staying. The people there tell Priya that they sealed Ram's room due to Ram having been infected by a virus. Due to low blood sugar, Priya faints but regains consciousness, with Brinda and Vikrant arriving at the Hotel. Ram video calls Priya, and Brinda and Vikrant realize how much Priya cares for Ram.

After Priya tells Shubham, Sid, and Adi the news, Priya calls the clients that are angry because of the meeting that Shubham and Sid didn't attend. Vedika gives Shubham and Sid a pen drive with the audio message from Ram telling Vedika that he will always love her. After the successful meeting with the client, Adi comes back into the room and sees the audio message playing with Sara in the room with him. Adi tries to explain it to her but Priya and Sandy walk in the room and Sara decides not to tell Priya the truth. Nandini tasks Shubham to find out if Priya heard the audio message or not. At the bakery, Sara is crying and decides to find out who sent the pen drive. Vedika almost tells Priya the truth but Nandini stops her saying that Priya will find out when the time is right.

Afterwards, Ram invites Priya to have dinner with him virtually. Shubham comes back home drunk and insults Priya. Priya tells him that she will help him. It is revealed that Shubham was pretending to be drunk and Nandini knew about it. Ram and Priya have a successful virtual dinner together. Adi arrives at the house with papers of Priya returning the 5% of Shubham's company that Ram gave to her. But, Priya brings Ram back to the house, fully recovered, which everyone is shocked by and happy. When Ram goes upstairs, Priya says to hide this from Ram and that she will give the 5% after Shubham does a good job handling his company and Business.

Vedika takes the papers and puts them on Ram's bed. When Priya goes upstairs, Ram sees them, they argue and Ram leaves. Nandini convinces Priya to go to her house to prevent any more arguments with Ram. Sandy calls a journalist to find Anjali and Priya realizes that Anjali is living beside Ram's farmhouse, which is overheard by Sid. Priya goes back to her house and sees Ram getting a head massage from Meera. In her bedroom, Ram and Priya have a long argument. Priya says to herself that she will tell the truth to Ram after his birthday. The next morning, Priya makes Meera ask Ram what his favourite cake is, so she can make that Ram's birthday cake.

Priya and Sara find Anjali's room, but when she doesn't answer, Priya writes a note for Anjali and slides it under the apartment door. Nandini and Vedika lie to Ram that Priya is with Neeraj, which makes Ram angry and jealous. When Ram and Vedika arrive at the farmhouse, Ram is shocked to see Priya is the only one not present there. After making the cake, Priya and Sara drive to the party. But Ram sees Priya walk in while Sara puts the cake somewhere special. When Ram makes a toast, he thanks Vedika for the surprise, completely ignoring Priya. Vedika convinces Neeraj to make Priya drunk.

Priya gets a call from Anjali saying that she is coming to the farmhouse. But, Raj is driving the car Anjali is in and he messages Shashi that he is taking her to the outhouse. To make Priya more jealous, Ram decides to share a dance with Vedika. Neeraj pays the bartender to put something in Priya's drink. But after Priya drinks it, she walks to the dance floor and holds Ram's hand and they share a dance together, but it was all in Ram’s head. Vedika plays the video where Ram proposes to her in college but Priya doesn’t see it. Vedika says someone is trying to ruin Ram and Priya’s relationship.

Shubham and Sanjeev find Raj outside of a rickshaw, having just dropped off Anjali at the outhouse. They question him but they let him go. Priya goes to find Anjali in one of the rooms but is having headaches due to her drink. Sara and Sandy reveal to Ram that Priya made Ram’s favourite cake for his birthday, which makes Ram look for Priya. Shubham and Sanjeev hide when Priya comes inside but they make a noise and Priya turns around to see who is there.

Neeraj comes and brings Priya home. Anjali overhears Shubham and Sanjeev talking. Failing to find Priya, Ram comes back and Vedika wants to cut the cake but Ram says no. Vedika tells her intentions to Kunal. While Maitri searches Neeraj in the party, Ram and Maitri find Neeraj in Ram's house and Ram tells Neeraj to stay away from Priya. Ram goes inside, talks with Priya, and takes her to a private party with just the two of them. Adi, Kunal, and Vikrant show Sara the full video of the day in college when Ram proposed to Vedika.

Meanwhile, Ram and Priya are having fun at their private party with the rain as well. But, Vedika and Shubham witness this. Shubham gives Raj enough food and drinks to get Raj to tell him where Anjali is. Ram tells Adi that he doesn’t feel connected to Vedika anymore, which makes Adi happy. Anjali calls Priya and tells her that she knows who her blackmailers are and Priya asks her to meet at Ram's office. Vedika tells Ram that Akshay invested money somewhere and tells him maybe Akshay is behind all this. At the bakery, Akshay lies to Ram that he invested money in the Care Fund when he actually gave the money to Anjali.

Anjali tells Priya that the man who did this was talking about a 5% of some sort and tells her that he was calling Priya his sister-in-law. Priya concludes that Anjali is talking about Shubham. Priya tells Anjali that whoever did this to her will get what they deserve. Vedika puts something in Shivina's purse, which is witnessed by Sara. Ram calls the Care Fund to see if Akshay actually invested there, but Rohit, the man at the Care Fund, tells Ram that Akshay didn't invest anything.

Adi tells Ram that Sara knows about him and Vedika. Priya comes back home with lilies and gives them to Ram. But Ram hugs her instead. After the hug, Anjali calls Priya and says to meet at the bakery to tell Ram everything. So Priya convinces Ram to come to the bakery with her. Anjali calls Akshay and tells her to come to the bakery. When Akshay leaves, Shivina looks inside her purse and finds some pictures of Akshay with Anjali. Shivina asks Shubham to follow Akshay to the bakery. When Ram and Priya arrive at the bakery, Maitri comes and pulls Priya aside to tell her something important.

Priya gets angry when Maitri tells her to stay away from Neeraj. Ram finds Shubham and Shivina going inside the bakery and follows them. There they find Akshay and Anjali inside and when Shubham is yelling at Akshay for trying to cheat on Shivina, Akshay tries to hit Shubham but Ram stops his hand. Priya asks Anjali to tell everyone what she told her earlier. But Priya is shocked when Anjali lies, saying that Akshay has kept threatening her and forcing himself on her. Priya gets mad at Anjali for lying, but Anjali says that Priya didn't want to listen to her.

Ram then apologizes to Anjali and she leaves the bakery. Akshay tries to convince Shivina but Ram and Shubham stop him and leave. Meera and Sara come and try to stop them but Ram calls Meera "aunty" instead of "Meera Ma", which he is then speechless for what he just said. He then gets in the car and leaves. At the Kapoor house, Vedika tries to calm Shivina down and Ram, Shubham, and Shivina share a hug. Shashi and Vedika have an argument.

Akshay comes to talk to Shivina but Shubham starts hitting him and Priya gets in between. When Shubham hits Priya to the ground, Akshay hits back at Shubham, which is stopped by Ram. Nandini yells at Akshay to get out and says they should get a divorce. But Akshay says that Shivina will always be his wife and he leaves. Shashi pays 1 crore to Mahendra and tells him to kill Ram in an accident as he did with his father. Priya tells Ram that Anjali told her that whoever did this was mad about a 5% and called her "sister-in-law." But Ram, refusing to believe that his family did this, still blames Akshay. Priya leaves in anger.

Adi comforts Ram by drinking Alcohol and Ram says that he won't rest until he finds out the mystery behind his father's death. Priya finds Ram's father's license plate under the bed and puts it in the drawer. Vedika finds Ram and takes him somewhere, which is seen by Adi and Brinda and she thinks that Shashi is the only one who can help. Vedika takes Ram to a special bedroom and tells her she made a big mistake marrying Shashi, but Adi, Priya, and Brinda come in with Ram's birthday cake. Shashi comes and invites everyone to his house for a celebration of Lohri. When Ram drops Priya off at the bakery, Ram overhears Mahendra insulting Priya. But when Mahendra leaves, Ram threatens him and tells Mahendra that if he insults Priya again, no one will be angrier than him. Mahendra calls Shashi and says he is ready to kill Ram. Priya tells Meera that Mahendra talked to her, and Meera notices that Priya and Ram are falling for each other slowly. Brinda comes into Ram's Office and yells at Ram saying that he and Priya will go to Shashi's Lohri party.

Ram dresses up Priya because Brinda made up rasam. Priya reaches the party and finds Shivina and asks her to give Akki a fair chance to explain to which she agrees. Mahendra Sood reaches there and apologizes to Nandini to not let his daughter's marriage break. Priya reprimands him telling him that her marriage is just fine, and there is no problem and even if there is they would handle it. Mahendra Sood agitated by this, wants Ram to die in an accident by him, Priya overhears this and tries to stop it. In order to do so, she drives an auto and comes between Ram and Mahedra Sood, where she is hit by his car and is hanging on a cliff end, and Ram tries to save her.

Ram then yells "I Love You" to Priya after he pulls her up. Ram takes Priya to the hospital and everyone reaches there. Nandini notices that Ram is falling in love with Priya. Shashi tries to convince Vedika that Ram has moved on, but Vedika still thinks that Ram can never move on from her.

Ram goes to the temple on foot for Priya, meanwhile in the hospital Priya comes back to consciousness. Doctors allow Ram to take Priya home so Ram throws a party for her. Priya receives a letter and a bunch of lilies the letter put a doubt in Priya's mind regarding Ram. The letter was sent by Vedika. Ram and Vedika share a drink (Wine). Priya came downstairs to ask Tarun who sent this but then Ram comes and takes Priya back upstairs. Then Priya tells Ram that Meera is coming tomorrow morning. Meera comes and shows Ram the phone from which Akshay was receiving threatening messages. Shashi comes to take Vedika back but Vedika tells everyone that Shashi hits her. She tells Priya is aware of everything. Nandini asks Ram why he is defending Priya for hiding such a big thing from them. Ram tells her that he knows Priya and he is sure Vedika must have asked her to not share her secret with anyone. He apologizes to Priya for blaming her and tells Nandini that Priya was just being a good friend. He tells her that instead of holding Shashi accountable for his behaviour, they are blaming Priya and it is not right. Later, Nandini and Vedika trick Shashi, convincing everyone that Shashi attempted to separate Shivina and Akki. Ram grows enraged and throws Shashi from his house. Later Ram goes to Meera's house and apologises to Akki.

In May 2021, it was confirmed that Ekta Kapoor's show, Bade Achhe Lagte Hain which was originally broadcast from 2011 to 2014 will return with a fresh cast and different storyline.^[7]

Casting[]

Nakuul Mehta was finalized to play the male lead, Ram Kapoor.^[8] For the female lead Priya Sood, Ekta Kapoor's first choice was Divyanka Tripathi with whom she worked already in Yeh Hai Mohabbatein (2013–2019).^[9] Tripathi even did the look test for Priya's role, but eventually rejected it as she couldn't connect herself with the character. Then Devoleena Bhattacharjee was considered for the role, but she wasn't selected too.^[10] Lastly, Disha Parmar was approached and finally locked by the makers to play the female lead, Priya Sood.^[3] The show marks the second collaboration between Mehta and Parmar as they previously co-starred in Pyaar Ka Dard Hai Meetha Meetha Pyaara Pyaara (2012–2014).^[11][12]

Release[]

The first promo of the series was revealed and released by the show producer Ekta Kapoor on 12 August 2021 featuring Nakuul Mehta and Disha Parmar as Ram and Priya.^[13] The first look poster of the upcoming season of the series was unleashed by the show leads Disha Parmar and Nakuul Mehta, at the grand finale episode of Indian Idol 12.^[14][15] The show's premier date was officially announced on 19 August 2021.^{[citation needed]}
