Arunita Kanjilal is an Indian classical and semi-classical singer from Bangaon, West Bengal.She majorly sings in the languages Hindi and Bengali. In 2013, at the age of ten she won the Bengali singing reality show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Bangla. In 2014, she was in Hindi singing competition show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L'il Champs 2014 where she became the 3rd runner up. She participated in Indian Idol 12, where she emerged as the first runner up of the show .
Arunita did her schooling in Bangaon. At this early age, she started learning music from her mother, and later she started learning from her maternal uncle.[1]
Musical career[]
In 2013 she participated in Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Bangla,[2] a Bengali music reality show and became the winner.[citation needed] . The next year she participated in the Zee TV singing reality show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L'il Champs 2014 and became a finalist.[3] In 2020–2021 she participated in Indian Idol Season 12 and stood at second place.[4][5] Singer Bappi Lahiri offeres Arunita a singing contract after hearing her perform in the show.[6] Arunita became the youngest Indian at 18 years of age to perform at Wembley SSE Arena in London (UK).[7] She was part of the Magnificent Four UK Tour in October–November 2021.[8] She was the part of the Magnificent Four Canada Tour in December 2021.[citation needed] She is going to be a captain in the second season of the Indian TV reality show Superstar Singer,which will be launched in April 2022 [9]
