Endeavour Group (ASX:EDV[2]) is the leading hospitality and liquor business in Australia, and an ASX top 50 company.[3] Endeavour Group separated from Woolworths Group on 28 June 2021 via one of the largest demergers in Australian history with a market capitalisation of $10.8 billion on listing.[4]

Endeavour Group employs 28,000 team members, all united around the company's purpose of "creating a more sociable future together". Endeavour Group operates hotels across 330 locations and through it s liquor division including Dan Murphy's, BWS, Langtons, Sheritys Liqour and Jimmy Brings Endeavour operates Australia's largest retail drinks network with more than 1,640 stores, and it has the nation's largest network of licensed premises.[5]

Endeavour Group's Retail and Hotels businesses are supported by Pinnacle Drinks, Endeavour Group's exclusive products and services business, and the digital capabilities of EndeavourX, which brings together Endeavour Group's digital platforms, loyalty propositions and key fulfilment platforms, and also oversees the trading operations of its speciality and eCommerce businesses.[6]

In October 2021, the company shared its first Sustainability Strategy in which it unveiled plans to amplify its recognised leadership in the responsible service of alcohol and conduct of gambling by partnering with health experts, regulators, government and industry to invest in research and projects that aim to reduce alcohol and gambling harm in the community. This includes plans to use innovative technology including facial recognition and predictive algorithms to support problem gamblers or drinkers as part of its broader corporate responsibility and sustainability strategy.[7] Endeavour Group's sustainability strategy also includes a pledge to completely switch to renewable electricity by 2030 and net-zero emissions by 2050.[8]

The company is also targeting a 40:40:20 diversity balance in senior leadership by 2030, a policy which aims for a composition of 40 per cent women, 40 per cent men and 20 per cent of any gender leadership by 2030.[9]

History[]

Woolworths Group was the largest takeaway liquor-retailer[10] and the largest hotel and gaming poker-machine operator in Australia (Australian Leisure and Hospitality Group),[10] and was the 19th-largest retailer in the world in 2008.[11]

In 2019, Woolworths restructured its alcoholic drinks business to form Endeavour Group.[12] In June 2021, the Endeavour Group was listed as a separate entity on the Australian Securities Exchange.[13] After the IPO listing on the ASX on 24 June 2021, as well as retail brands BWS, Dan Murphy's and Langton's, EG owns Australia's largest portfolio of hotels under division AHA Hotels, including Young & Jackson in Melbourne and Breakfast Creek Hotel in Brisbane.[14]
