The England cricket team were scheduled to tour Bangladesh in September and October 2021 to play three One Day International (ODI) and three Twenty20 International (T20I) matches.[1][2] The ODI series would have formed part of the inaugural 2020–2023 ICC Cricket World Cup Super League.[3][4] The T20I matches would have been used as preparation for the 2021 ICC Men's T20 World Cup.[5][6][7] However, in August 2021, the tour was postponed due to fixture congestion and the ongoing Covid pandemic.[8][9][10]

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) confirmed that they were in talks with the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) to reschedule the matches before the cut-off time of the Super League.[11][12] On 3 August 2021, the ECB confirmed that the tour had been re-arranged for March 2023.[13][14]
