The initiated Sikh is asked by the Panj Piare during the Amrit Sanchar ceremony to recite the following five banis as a commitment to the Sikh Gurus and Waheguru.The banis are also recited daily in the morning (Amrit Vela).
The Five Banis are: Japji Sahib, Jaap Sahib, Tav-Prasad Savaiye, Rehras and Kirtan Sohila
Japji Sahib, Jaap Sahib, Tav-Prasad Savaiye are recited in the morning along with Chaupai Sahib and Anand Sahib.
Rehras and Kirtan Sohila are recited in the evening.
Every sikh should recite these 5 banis daily.
