Hana Soukupová (born 18 December 1985) is a Czech supermodel. She has participated in the Victoria's Secret Fashion Shows and modelled for the Victoria's Secret catalog.

Early life[]

Soukupová was born on 18 December 1985 in Karlovy Vary, Czechoslovakia (now the Czech Republic).[3] Because of her height, she began playing basketball for a local team at the age of 5.

Career[]

Soukupová began to work as a model in Prague in 1998.[3] She signed her first major modeling contract at 15 years of age as the face of Carolina Herrera’s Chic perfume.

In September 2004, Soukupová was selected as one of only nine models appeared on the cover of American Vogue in an issue that compared supermodels today to supermodels of the 80s and 90s heyday. Others included Gisele Bündchen, Natalia Vodianova, and Karolína Kurková.[4] Vanity Fair touted her as the next Eastern European model who would most likely make it big. Additionally, she has been featured on more than 100 magazine covers including numerous international editions of Vogue and on the covers of Harper's Bazaar, Elle and Marie Claire. Soukupová's work can be seen in over 5,000 pages of editorial fashion stories and advertising campaigns. Soukupová has worked closely with renowned photographers Steven Meisel, Annie Leibovitz, Peter Lindbergh, Nick Knight, Inez & Vinoodh, Mario Sorrenti, Mert & Marcus, Steven Klein, Mario Testino and Patrick Demarchelier.

Soukupová has walked in over 500 runway fashion shows, including the internationally televised Victoria’s Secret shows and opening and closing shows for fashion icons including Alexander McQueen, Zac Posen, Gucci, Galliano, Dior, Calvin Klein, Karl Lagerfeld, Dolce & Gabbana and Valentino. She shot her first international television commercial in 2011, winning a CLIO award for Mattoni, a luxury bottled water company in eastern Europe who extended her contract in 2019. Soukupová has acted in several independent films.

Soukupová has modeled for Gucci, BVLGARI, Escada, Balenciaga, Max Mara, Dior, Carolina Herrera, H&M, Victoria's Secret, and Versace. She has been the face of Gucci, Gucci Envy, Escada, Dior, Versace, St. John, Carolina Herrera, Bvlgari and GAP. Soukupová's other runway credits include Chanel, Dior, Marc Jacobs, Louis Vuitton, Versace, Ralph Lauren, Donna Karen, Missoni, Alexander McQueen, Hermes, Balenciaga, Fendi, Michael Kors, Valentino, Cavalli, Fendi, Chloé, Gucci, Anna Sui and Zac Posen.

Soukupová returned home to host the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival along with actor Andy Garcia and Vaclav Klaus, the President of the Czech Republic. Together with Julianne Moore, Billy Crud and Casey Afflec, Soukupova did so again in 2019, for what has become one of the most prestigious and highly attended film festivals throughout Europe.

For a period of 37 consecutive months Soukupová held the position of #3 in the world, according to models.com's official ranking of top female models.

Soukupová's first child was born in 2013. She surfaced a year later, appearing on a September 2014 Marie Claire cover. In January 2016 Soukupova shared she was expecting their second child in late summer of that year. Soukupova returned to the runway opening the Versace Fall 2017 Ready-to-Wear fashion show in Milan for Donatella Versace. In the February 2019 issue of Elle Magazine Soukupova was listed as number 7 of the top 25 most influential women in the Czech Republic. In 2020, Soukupova had a third child.

Charity[]

Soukupová is a dedicated member of the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. She has been involved with DKMS as a proud supporter for the Global Organization's fight against Blood Cancer. She is involved in various organizations and institutions related to supporting Woman Power and Contemporary Art. She has maintained an active role with EcoStyle, an international organization dedicated to environmentally friendly fashion which showcase eco-conscious and sustainable design innovations along with Be Charity, assisting sick children.

Personal life[]

Soukupová is married to business mogul and serial entrepreneur Drew M. Aaron, President and CEO of The Aaron Group of Companies (partnered with Chinese conglomerate Konica Minolta in 2019). Aaron is the founder of various international organizations including Lionsgate Capital and Gallery Red. Most recently Aaron launched Rouge Mallorca. The two were married at a small private wedding in 2006. Modern Painters magazine included them in the top 50 under 50 art collectors in the world. Their various homes and art collection have been featured in numerous international publications, including Elle Decor and Architectural Digest.

In 2016, the family moved to Mallorca, looking for a drastic lifestyle change to grow their family away from the hectic New York City life. Hana and her family live in their Mallorcan based finca secluded in mountains and surrounded by renowned artworks of top emerging Spanish contemporary artists. The family also maintains a home at the top of Son Vida, Mallorca where they have an amazing array of international artists.
