Samson Kayode Olaleye (born 6 October 1988), is a Nigerian - Vietnamese footballer who plays as a forward for Hồ Chí Minh City[1]
Following his naturalization as a Vietnamese citizen in 2013, his name is rendered as Hoàng Vũ Samson in Vietnamese.
Samson hold the record for most goals scored in V.League 1.
Career[]
Samson Kayode started his career as a player in the Vietnam First Division in the shirt of Than Quang Ninh FC. In 2 years at Than Quang Ninh he has scored 15 goals. In 2009, he joined Dong Thap FC club in V.League 1 and later became one of the top players in Vietnam. In the 2011 season, Samson had 17 goals in 18 games.
In August 2011, after being liquidated by Dong Thap FC ahead of time due to a hand injury, Kayode moved to Atletico Madrid on a free transfer. He was then loaned to S.C. Braga because Atletico Madrid had run out of quotas to sign non-EU players.[2][3]
However, as soon as they learned that Atletico Madrid signed a contract with striker Samson, the representative of Hanoi T&T had a file submitted to the VFF requesting not to issue an ITC international transfer certificate for the Nigerian striker because he had previously submitted an ITC transfer certificate to the Nigerian striker. agreed to sign a memorandum of understanding to play for the capital team from the 2012 season with a part of the transfer money and a compensation clause in case of violation.
From the 2018 season, teams in the top two divisions of Thailand allow teams to register a foreign player of Southeast Asian origin (ASEAN) in the squad. Buriram United F.C. quickly reached an agreement with Hoang Vu Samson at the end of December 2017. However, on his debut in the Thai Super Cup, the striker missed in the penalty shootout. At first, the defending champion Thailand team registered 5 foreign players in the squad including Diogo, Edgar, Andres Tunez, and Hoang Vu Samson. According to the regulations in the Thai League 2018, each team is allowed to have 4 foreign players in the starting lineup, including an Asian. However, in many matches, Buriram only used 3 because he thought that Hoang Vu Samson was not better than Thai players. Newin is the decisive voice in recruiting foreign players at Buriram United. His parting with Hoang Vu Samson shows that this President has very high professional requirements when foreign soldiers want to wear this rich team.
Returning to Hanoi, Hoang Vu Samson is still trusted by coach Chu Dinh Nghiem. At this team, the 30-year-old has scored 21 goals in the 2018-2019 season. In 2019, Hoang Vu Samson played for Quang Nam FC, scoring 7 goals in 12 matches. From the 2020 season, the Nigerian-born player was borrowed by Thanh Hoa FC, he scored 9 goals in 22 matches until March 31, 2021.
